Day 8: Exploring & planning our escape - Fez
9am Late breakfast, loving the Riad
Looking down from the roof terrace And across the medina making plans for the day and where Day 9 will take us.
Boots in the roof top office.
After much deliberation we have decided to miss going to Casablanca or Rabat but head for a beach resort. The hustle bustle of the medina is very similar in each old city and quite exhausting.Time to chill and maybe even find a glass of wine
That is the plan for tomorrow.
The places we planned to visit today are firstly the train station/bus agency to get tickets to Asilah.
Then to work our way back through the medina, exploring where they sell and serve camel meat
A letterbox Geocache
To find out where the world class restaurant Nur is. ( at a £100 per person we will not be eating there this time)
Maybe find a beer in the British Saloon and a bottle of wine in Carefours.
Lastly it is our plan to visit the tanneries, maybe buy a handbag
And if we have time grab another cache near the tombs
12 noon On our way to the station - Dora & Boots reformation maybe drinking Americano at noon on holibobs!
Cafe Maamoura Salon
So glad to be out of the Medina. The would be guides are so annoying.
Quick call in Mall (home to Carrefour).very cosmopolitan compared to medina but no wine!
Station found.Tickets to Asilah purchased for 11.15am tomorrow. Time to celebrate with a salad & sandwich to share & lemonade
2PM - Time moving on very quickly so get a taxi (should have haggled) to Blue Gate as it would have taken near an hour to walk.British Saloon just around the corner but closed - no beer.
Camel store found after again being hasseled by guide , this time an official one
Geocache found with the helped of some little local lads 10MAD
Met Austrian couple from yesterday.
Could not find a handbag I really liked, maybe another day. Slightly lost on way out of Medina, found ourselves in Copper area
