Day 11. Casablanca Day trip

Having checked the weather forecast yesterday  we decided to have another day out to Casablanca today. Hoping Monday & Tuesday will be Sunny beach days.
6.15am Alarm set to see if we feel up to the planned day out. All good.
7am Book taxi to Tangier Gare Ville.
The train only leave at 5.30am and 10.45am
Quick breakfast and we are on our way the journey is approximately 45mins and cost 300MAD.
8.10am Arrive Tangier Station and buy return tickets for the 9am bullet train to Casablanca 984MAD (2 people)
Time to grab a coffee in the bullet train lounge
shame we have had breakfast
The bullet train runs every hour.
The journey to Casablanca is 2 hr. Time to plan what to do when we get there
Guru walk Looks interesting but the starting point is 58 minutes walk away from casa voyageur where we disembark.
11.10am Train pulls into Casa voyageur Station. Previous research had told me there was a metro link to the city (port).
We deliberated a bit before seeing Casa Port on a departure board. The train left from platform 7 in three minutes.
Missed that one so got tickets from billets office for next train 12.04.. 11 MAD each
May just make it quicker than walking, given that it is raining, guess its a £1 well spent
12.04pm Guard showed us onto 1st class carriage.. purple comfy seats upstairs shame the journey is only 10 minures

12 30pm
Tickets bought for train back from port to voyageur Station. 14 50pm Flying visit less than 2hrs to explore.
Still trying to smile in the rain

Where does the tramway connect.. must ask Google.

1pm Sacred heart church
And parisienne style coffee opposite the church.

The daily medina trip is calling
No hassle .  Grim day but food looked good. Including huge Tuna steaks. Cautious when taking photos as have been warned that Moroccan's do not like to be photographed.
Took shelter from rain to check route back to station and was greeted by well spoken morrocan who's son had a shop.
They are very good at cornering you. Looked at 2 bags, landed up being asked 900MAd instead of 1150MAD. Only wanted 1, ended up with purple very faded bag for 350MAD.. Not sure it was a good deal.
Time to escape medina and head back.
3.22 pm Hungry with time to kill before catching the 4pm bullet train.
Not our usual place to lunch or place to find a cat
Grapefruit fizz sounded good but very sweet and not fizzy
Chunky chips not bad!
3.58 pm
Ready to depart on the bullet train. 2hr 10 minutes to Tangiers. Time to dry out
5.58pm speeding along 309 km/pH. Next stop Tangiers.
6.10pm an hour till the train leaves for Asilah to beer or not to beer?
Sensible decision not to beer..
Feeling livelier than last night so plan to get taxi into Asilah station into town.
8pm No taxi's  at station so walk we do. Boot's  feet aching in beach shoes so go via hotel (to change ) and then promenade.. The Weather has definitely improved.   Lots of nice eating places.. Nearly made it to where we went a couple  of days ago but drawn in by the place next door
Tasty anchovies complimentary
Another really nice fish platter,  r wine. 2nd bottle,  so had to walk home.
New world currency for Dora and Boots  wine =150 MaD.= Widneb!!! = wi(d=dora)ne(b=boots).
Well over Budget day out not sure how many widnebs but sure we have saved them somewhere!
Green March tomorrow. Bank Holiday..
